ITU Asian Junior Camp News

Young athletes at the ITU Asian Junior Triathlon Training Camp in Singapore went to the Raffles Hotel today to learn about the Olympic Movement.  

While they were there they met with Kipchoge (Kip) Keino, the famous Kenyan Olympic Champion and several other Olympic Champions.

The young athletes also met several IOC members including Pal Schmidt of Hungary who is featured in the attached photo along with ITU President Les McDonald and Secretary General, Bill Walker.

The junior triathletes come from Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, India, Hong Kong.  They are being coached by the 2 times World Champion and winner of over 20 World Cup titles, Emma Carney of Australia and Miles Brownling, one of Australia’s high performance coaches.

The camp continues until Sunday, and after that the athletes will be tracked through the coming Southeast Asia Games in the Philippies and the ITU Triathlon World Championships in Japan later this year.
