Triathlon Australia seeks head coach for Gold Coast National Performance Centre

Triathlon Australia is the official National Sporting Organisation responsible for the management and delivery of the sports of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and multisport within Australia. It is a member of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) and is recognised by the ITU and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) as the National Federation representing Triathlon.

Triathlon Australia (TA) has eight affiliated State and Territory Triathlon Associations. Known as the STTAs, they are the official members of the national body. In addition TA has approximately 17,000 individual members and 180 affiliated triathlon clubs.

The National Performance Centres provide all the daily training / performance requirements of high performance athletes in a World Best environment.  The Gold Coast Centre is based at Pizzey Park in a contemporary AIS facility shared with the high performance programs of BMX and Canoeing.

Reporting to the National Performance Director, the Head Coach will lead the daily performance environment, technical direction and operational standards for the Gold Coast National Performance Centre within the framework established through the Triathlon High Performance Plan.

To be considered for this hands-on role you will hold national and international triathlon coaching qualifications (minimum Level 2 or equivalent) and have extensive triathlon coaching experience at World and/or Olympic level. You will have extensive experience working directly in high performance triathlon programs and leading support services, coaches and athletes in a high performance environment.

You will be highly motivated and target-orientated individual who has a passion for achieving elite success. Your excellent planning, organisational and interpersonal communication skills will allow you to form effective working relationships with a variety of performance staff, athletes, parents, external stakeholders and partner organisations.

This is a full time position with the initial contract term to 31 December, 2016 at which time an extension option will be available, subject to mutual agreement. Travel throughout Australia during the Australian Summer Period will be required. Candidates should anticipate up to four (4) months (maximum) travel / residency in Europe (Southern France / Northern Spain) during the Australian Winter.
