Oceania Triathlon to host Development Camp and Development Regional Cup with Support from PacificAus Sports

Oceania Triathlon is pleased to acknowledge the support of the Australian Government through its PacificAus Sports partnership with the Australian Olympic Committee, created to provide Pacific athletes with access to high-performance training and elite competition.

Through this support, and in partnership with Oceania Triathlon and World Triathlon, an Oceania Talent Team of Pacific triathletes will attend the Oceania Triathlon Development Camp and Development Regional Cup in Nadi, Fiji, from 8–15 December 2025. The programme will be led by AusTriathlon-accredited coach, Kate Bramley and Triathlon New Zealand accredited coach Chris  Clarke, and supported by experienced development facilitators from across the region.

The event will feature a four-day high-performance training camp, an Aquathlon on 13 December, and the World Triathlon Development Regional Cup on 14 December, giving athletes the chance to refine their skills, gain valuable international competition experience, and connect with peers from across the Pacific. A parallel “Coach the Coach” programme will build coaching expertise and strengthen triathlon development across the region.

“PacificAus Sports is about creating real pathways for Pacific athletes to compete and succeed on the world stage. Triathlon is a sport that demands versatility, discipline, and resilience — and this Development Camp and Regional Development Cup will give our Pacific neighbours the environment they need to push their limits. We’re proud to stand with Oceania Triathlon in helping athletes and coaches prepare for the big milestones ahead — from the Oceania Championships and Pacific Games to LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032.

Pete de Wet, President of Oceania Triathlon, said:

“This opportunity is an exciting example of what can be achieved when strong partnerships come together. Working alongside World Triathlon, we’re committed to growing the sport across Oceania and creating the kind of experiences that can transform athletes’ careers.

Bringing our Pacific triathlon community together in Fiji will be a milestone for the sport in our region. This is more than a race — it’s a platform for sharing knowledge, building friendships, and preparing athletes for the next step in their journey. The combination of a high-performance training environment, competitive racing, and targeted coach development will create lasting benefits for every nation involved. I congratulate the athletes selected to represent their countries and look forward to seeing them thrive both in Nadi and in the years ahead.”

The initiative is supported by PacificAus Sports through the 2025 Pacific Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games Partnership, a collaboration between the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), Paralympics Australia (PA) and Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA).
